Mavric
Nebraska senior forward Emily Cady and junior guard Rachel Theriot earned All-Big Ten women’s basketball second-team honors Monday. Cady and Theriot were honored by both the league coaches and media. Senior guard Tear’a Laudermill received honorable mention from both groups. Cady averaged a double-double of 12.5 points and 10.4 rebounds per game to help the Huskers to their fourth consecutive 20-win season. She enters the Big Ten Tournament needing just five rebounds to join the conference's all-time top 10. She was also second-team All-Big Ten last season. Theriot was honored despite missing NU's final eight games because of an ankle injury that eventually needed surgery. A first-team All-Big Ten choice as a sophomore, when she led the Huskers to the Big Ten Tournament title as the tournament's MVP, Theriot averaged 16.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists before her injury. Laudermill, who averaged 13.7 points, joined Cady in the Husker starting lineup for all 29 games. It marked the second straight season for Laudermill to earn postseason honors, after earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2014. Link Quote Link to comment
