The Nittany Lions were impressive in non-conference play, going 12-1 with the only loss being a double-OT loss to Charlotte on Nov. 20. In Big Ten play, PSU has had opportunities, as eight of their conference losses were by two possessions or less or in overtime. The Nittany Lions had lost their last six games before knocking off Minnesota 79-76 on Sunday in Minneapolis to complete a season sweep of the Gophers. The Nittany Lions feature one of the top scorers in the Big Ten in fifth-year senior D.J. Newbill, who leads the conference in scoring at 20.7 points per game. The 6-foot-4 guard also tops PSU in assists with 3.2 per game and chips in 4.9 rebounds per game. Junior Brandon Taylor is second on the team in scoring at 9.3 points per game, while freshman Shep Garner averages 9.1 points per game. All three players have at least 50 3-pointers, as the trio has combined for 155 of Penn State’s 205 3-pointers on the year. Senior Ross Travis leads PSU with 6.3 rebounds per game. 2 Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Tough one! Coaching: Tie Players: Edge PSU because of Newbill Location: Not sure if both teams will think they are the road team or if both will think they are the home team. The line is PSU -1.5 but I like NU here. NU 60 PSU 56 Quote Link to comment
Comish
If you look soley at respective trajectories..............PSU has some momentum................and we do not I'd have to think that gives them an edge. Quote Link to comment

I totally agree with that...I just think that the skers are bound to have a decent game and get a win. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
We had a pretty decent game against both Illinois and Maryland. What's nice about the tournament, is that it is a new beginning. Everyone's 0-0. Perhaps that fresh start is something desperately needed by our players. I like our chances today, especially so if we played like we did against Maryland on Sunday. Don't settle. Get to the basket. You'll either be fouled or you'll get a nice look more times than you won't. Quote Link to comment

whateveritis1224
You know what I hate? Timeouts that are taken before the media timeout that go to commercials then after coming back and playing 5 seconds there is a stoppage in play that then prompts the media timeout and we have 5 minutes of commercials.
