My feelings exactly. +1. Chatelain is one of the most inspirational beat writers in the state. And at other times one of the most confrontational. This is a great article. I wish Chatelain would write more stuff like this. Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
I don't see any disconnect between being inspirational and being confrontational. Quote Link to comment
Ric Flair
Dirk was unfairly criticized for being too comfrontational with Bo. In hindsight, the criticism of the media should have been directed at cowardly lapdogs like Sipple who simply didn't do their jobs. Quote Link to comment
Dr. Strangelove
He was correct in his 'confrontational' pieces many times. He got to much flak for not always pushing sunshine & rainbows stuff like Sipple. 1 Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Very nice article by Dirk. Quote Link to comment
Street Novelist
I can't believe there are Husker fans who don't know who Brook Berringer is. If I had a kid, you could be sure I would sit them down and explain his importance to our program and what he embodied. 1 Quote Link to comment

And as much as i xant stand him, so does dirk. So does Shatel, Mckewon, Barfy, etc. they all have a particular point of view to offer. If you do t constant defense or sunshining, then dont read Sipple. If you like good straight forward perspective, then stick with Shatel. Irs really that simple. Thats the advantage of being a Husker Fan you get so many different angles. How boring would it be if they all said the same thing. You mentioning Sipple in the middle of a dirk conversation means he actually does do his job. 2 Quote Link to comment

I show my five-year-old son YouTube clips of my favorite players, one of whom is Brook. I can't wait until he gets old enough to watch "UNBEATEN: The Life of Brook Berringer". LINK (I don't think he has the attention span to watch the full hour yet.) Quote Link to comment
