Mavric
Also, apparently fullback Harrison Jordan squats the most on the team. That's pretty impressive, especially considering he "only" weighs 230. Quote Link to comment

I wasn't going to say anything ...... but ..... Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I listened to the OWH Pick 6 podcast (Nyatawa & McKewon), and Sam basically said that Cross should be the 4th or 5th string RB. He thinks that Newby, Wilbon, Stevenson, and even Taylor should get carries in front of him. Sam went on to say that for some reason, the young backs just couldn't grasp Beck's system, and that's why Cross was the main backup the past 2 years. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I am EXTREMELY excited to see Newby. I honestly think he is going to explode and have a good year. He always seemed to me to be the guy that had all the potential in the world but was stuck behind someone great (AA). Now is his chance and he is going to do great things. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Nyatawa had some great points about using DPE on jet-sweep action the same way Oregon State used James Rodgers. Oregon State would use Rodgers 3 or 4 different ways coming off jet-sweep action. That will be cool to see. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's funny, after being to three Wisconsin games I still get a little triggered reading the words jet-sweep. 2 Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
This is going to be an interesting camp at RB. Lots of good competition. Should make for some impressive gains. Quote Link to comment

Hunter94
going to be tough for Newby to stand out, IMHO......lots of competition, need someone who can hold on to the ball too. 3 Quote Link to comment

I suppose it had nothing to do with him getting more yards per carry than Newby. If he is the 4th string running back, that is a GREAT thing. I felt like Beck's system, (the delayed handoff and read, played better to Ameer's strength's and Cross would have benefited from more straight ahead power running. But even in that system, which should have favored Newby, Cross averaged more yards. Don't understand the lack of love for Cross on this board. He may not have the cuts that Ameer and Newby flash, but what he does, he does very well. Show me another back in the BIG, with as high a percentage of short yardage carries, averaging 5+ yards/carry. 1 Quote Link to comment

However, I'm not a football expert. I just think he leaves yards on the field, sometimes due to his speed and agility, but most of the time due to his lack of vision. Quote Link to comment
