chainsaw
He replaced a real clown, who had ran everything into the ground. Going to take awhile to rebuild. I like the way MR operates. Let the bashing begin, but you aren't changing my mind! 2 Quote Link to comment
Redux
I'll give him until next December before I make my mind up on if he can be successful here. Right now he has dug himself a hole but he can still get out of it. Quote Link to comment
AFhusker
It would take any coach awhile to fix how bad Bo missed on his recruiting. 39% of his recruits 34/87 since 2011 are no longer with the team with only 5 of them because of expired eligibility. That is a lot of busts for any coach to make up for. 5 Quote Link to comment

RADAR
I believe that currently 25% of the starters on offense and defense are walkons. Glad the walkon program is keeping players on the field, but 408 really crapped the bed when it came to recruiting. Riley has a great bunch of top players in to visit this weekend, it is a huge start to rebuild the program so we can be competitive again. Quote Link to comment

The difference is that these walk ons are not the same as when TO was here. In TO's day, guys would wait for two years to play at colleges like NU even with a scholarship because we were on TV. Well now everyone is on TV and they can go to the Iowa States and Toledo's and play right away and still get to the NFL. Further research is being done on the top 40 programs to compare walk on %, and other than Wisconsin who is at 20%, the average for the other schools is between 2% and 6%. Quote Link to comment
Kernal
I don't know if I can hold out 4 years, I'm not very patient. I can barely last a week between games. 1 Quote Link to comment

LumberJackSker
I think if the losses were just because of the lack of players that fit his system fans would be a lot more forgiving and patience, but 2 of the 3 losses are because of coaching mistakes (byu and Illinois). These mistakes shouldn't happen with a experienced coaching staff like this. With that being said I have calmed down a bit since the Illinois game and am willing to give it until the end of next season. 6-6 this year and a 9 win season next year and I would be content Quote Link to comment

Me too, 4 years seems a bit excessive. I'll give him this year and maybe a little slack next year but after that it's pitchforks and torches if we drop another game like Illinois. But any more blatant clock mismanagement and the time line might get severely shortened. That shouldn't happen and it really shouldn't have happened twice like that already. 1 Quote Link to comment

We are not now. Just so you know. Quote Link to comment
GOAT
No offense, but I doubt he'll be here for 4 years. At his age, we don't have time for a "rebuilding process." It's not like the cupboard was bare when he arrived; this was a 9-win team a season ago. 3 Quote Link to comment

Rilley, Utter, Gangwish. That looks like 3 if you didn't take into consideration injuries, situational role players, suspensions, and the punter. Even if the 25% were the actual number, the BTN guys said that we are still the most athletic team in the west according to their subjective eyes. Let the excuse train keep rolling. 2 Quote Link to comment
