huskerfan92
TCU and Baylor better start scheduling a tougher non-conference if they want to be taken more serious. Overall, good job by the committee. A lot is going to change though Quote Link to comment
brophog
Northwestern is a massive surprise. No doubt getting a lot of credit still for the Stanford win. But does the committee realize they're actually getting out scored in games against FBS opponents this year? One note on the Big 12 and scheduling that needs to be stated: they play a true round robin, which accounts for one less non-conference game. A team like Alabama, whose higher ranked despite a loss, schedules one p5 team and then fillers (much like Nebraska and others do). Baylor actually has the same ratio of p5 to fillers, and TCU has a higher than average ratio. TCU doesn't have much of an argument at this point, and I really don't have a problem with Baylor being out of the top 4 considering their schedule is so massively backloaded. But, if we're at a similar decision at the end of the season, the above should be considered. Quote Link to comment

deedsker
Did I miss something with LSU being #2? I was thinking they might be the worst undefeated team left from the power five conference or possibly Oklahoma State. Notre Dame #5, no flippin' way! Quote Link to comment

A 6.5 point underdog this weekend and you're number 2. Doesn't sound funny at all. Quote Link to comment
Creed
Why the eff is A&M ranked? B/C it helps justify the SEC top dogs high rankings as the committee looks at wins vs other top 25 teams in the CFP rankings. A&M and Miss State have no signature wins or even good wins. SEC is set up to get 2 teams in. LSU/Bama/Miss - two of those teams are pretty much guaranteed to be top 7/8. Quote Link to comment
QMany
Playoff committee shows brand-name bias still in full effect with flawed first rankings That’s the same Memphis that is 8-0 and owns a 13-point victory over Mississippi – an Ole Miss team that won at Alabama and that the committee ranked 18th. How Memphis isn’t in the top 10 baffles me. Alabama at #4 is a joke. If they win out, yes they will deserve it. At this point, with a loss at home to the same Ole Miss team that Memphis beat, they clearly don't. Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
Why the eff is A&M ranked? Played really well against our last opponent with a true fish QB. Still 6-2. Only losses are to other teams in the rankings, and a good win over another team in the rankings. That's my guess. Offense has been an issue, and qb play specifically. Only reason we lost to Alabama is the QB threw 3 pick 6's. He's been benched and the new guy threw for 226 yards and ran for over 150 in the opener. 2 bad weeks, but defense has been playing well. VA Husker Fan
So what's Osborne's role on this SEC love, since he's 1 of 12 on the committee that put A&M higher than the AP or coaches' poll? Is he corrupt? Oblivious to what the rest of the committee (very few of whom have SEC or ESPN ties, btw) is doing? Or just content to give in so that he can watch football in a comfy chair with his buddy Barry? I mean, really, if this was an SEC sham, would Osborne stay on the committee? Quote Link to comment
