If MSU beats OSU on Saturday, does that put MSU into the Championship game?

Assuming they both have one conference loss, then MSU would get the 'tie breaker' of having defeated OSU in the head to head matchup. Yes, MSU would be the champs.

Now assuming MSU plays Iowa for the conference title, then the Huskers become the 'Unofficial True Big Ten 2015 Football Champions" because they are the only team that defeated both the eastern and western divison champs. GBR!!!

Kinda like the 2010 A&M Aggies. They have a banner up for that yet?

They have to win both their remaining games or Ohio State also has to lose against MIchigan.

If MSU beats OSU, but loses to PSU, OSU is still in assuming they beat UM

If OSU beats MSU and UM wins both their games, UM is in.

Basically all three teams need to win both their games to move on.

I posted the tie breaker on another thread. I should dig it up again. The final criteria after head to head and things like record in division and common opponents was final CFP ranking. If I remeber right, in that last scenario PSU and MSU would have better division records and PSU won head to head in the MSU matchup. It might be PSU that goes but I am not sure.

Here it is...

Big Ten division tie breakers..

The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:

(a) If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

(b) If three or more teams are tied, steps 1 through 7 will be followed until a determination is made. If only two teams remain tied after any step, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

1. The records of the tied teams will be compared against each other.

2. The records of the tied teams will be compared within their division.

3. The records of the teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, 6, and 7).

4. The records of the teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.

5. The highest ranked team in the first College Football Playoff poll following the completion of Big Ten regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game, unless the two highest ranked tied teams are ranked within one spot of each other in the College Football Playoff poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big Ten Championship Game.

6. The team with the best overall winning percentage [excluding exempted games] shall be the representative.

7. The representative will be chosen by random draw.
