It shows up in my feed titled as this thread - ESPN Mag: How Gronk is crushing D's - and the link is gronks-gonna-gronk Truth be told, Tom Brady & Co. use just a handful of play concepts, but they disguise them well by changing formations and shuffling personnel. Gronkowski, who has the capacity to line up anywhere -- Bill Belichick raved earlier this year about his football IQ -- is the key that makes it all work. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? That seems to be what a lot of great offenses are all about. Doing a few things really well, and mixing it up or disguising it perfectly. Although I have seen the Patriots offense described in another way, as a "gameplan offense" that can morph greatly from one week to another (for example, in terms of run/pass ratio). I guess only having a few concepts doesn't preclude that from happening. 1 Quote Link to comment
