GSG
http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210528806&DB_OEM_ID=100 The Big Ten announced today a number of enhancements to the conference’s postseason football awards program, including the creation of the Rodgers-Dwight Return Specialist of the Year. Named after former standouts Johnny Rodgers of Nebraska and Tim Dwight of Iowa, the annual trophy will honor the conference’s top performer on kickoff and/or punt returns. 2 Quote Link to comment

NUance
Awesome! I think that's an excuse to watch The Jet's greatest punt return! 1 Quote Link to comment
TAKODA
That was a great return and I can remember it like it was just last year. Lyle Bremser was a great radio announcer for the Huskers. Quote Link to comment

Elf
I'm kinda surprised that with all the PC crap going on in this country that Johnny Rodgers has had an award named after him. After all, he was convicted of robbing a gas station in 1970. He also had at least one cannabis related incident iirc as well. Quote Link to comment
Elf
And just to be clear to all the haters out there, I'm not necessarily against his name being attached to the award and honestly I don't really care one way or the other. I was just surprised by it for the reasons posted. Quote Link to comment
