Dr. Tom Osborne

I just listened to TO on the Sharp and Benning radio program and just have to say that Dr. Tom is and always has been a remarkable man and coach. He shared some of his past memories when answering some of the questions that Sharp and Benning were asking. He mentioned Dr. Jack Stark as playing an integral role in the development of his successful teams as well as the fact that back in that era, they had a unity council (players) that helped set the stage and goals for the team. I have mentioned this before but I am not so sure that these two aspects (Dr. Stark and Unity Council) should not be re-established within our program. If you can listen to this pod cast, I believe most will glean how truly respectful Dr. Tom was and is and how his true care and concern for his players as people played a part in the development of our young student athletes as well as our continuous success in the 90's. I know there are a bunch of younger generation fans who are not enamored with anything (history) and are only concerned with the now, but I believe it would be worthy of your time to give a listen to how selfless Dr. Tom was and is about his phenomenal coaching career at our U. By the way, Dr. Tom never mentioned the current staff, current players or the upcoming game with Iowa and I believe it was a conscious decision by all involved not put anything out there that may cause people to formulate any opinion on the current state of affairs.

I heard it too. Interesting three bullet points TO chose to emphasize as why the 1995 team was so successful.

BTW, this interview was a replay. Today Sharp and Benning were doing their "greatest hits" interviews from this season. I believe this interview with Tom was from the 1995 team anniversary and reunion.
