Dansker
This is gonna be moved to other sports. I read it was "mutual" as he is stepping down but will coach the bowl. It sounds like he was fired though. Quote Link to comment

Yes, multiple: 2002 and 2005... and many felt that Georgia should've played for the national championship in 2007 Quote Link to comment

LSU AD backed Miles says he is staying. He was informed after the game vs. Texas A&M. Ah, missed that. Thanks LSU's AD (department) is reeking of incompetency after this whole charade. Basically the boosters and the director wanted him gone, but then they realized how much public backlash they would get if they made such an idiotic decision. Georgia getting rid of Richt is sad because he's been a good coach for them and an even better person, but also totally understandable. He's underachieved consistently for a long time now - really no excuse in the world for Georgia to not be winning the East the last several years. Quote Link to comment

Thanks The first mistake that the LSU higher-ups (and their overinflated egos) made was that they thought/assumed that Jimbo Fisher would make the jump. Not sure what the "feelers" they sent out were told, but whatever it was, it was incorrect. The second mistake they made was that they let it leak that Miles was being released. The problem therein is that Fisher never had any definite intentions to make the jump, and now Alleva & Co. are stuck with egg on their faces, looking like the jackasses that they are. In other words, Jimbo turned them down, and there apparently was no Plan B. So now, they're left right where they started. Quote Link to comment

If LSU stays the course, and continues to bring in top recruiting classes it won't be long before they're in playoff contention. I read Miles is going to make changes on his staff. At least he has the cajones to do this after this season with that record. Quote Link to comment

Head coaching record Overall 144–51 Bowls 9–5 Quote Link to comment

Dansker
I could see Richt head over to ESPN just like Urban Meyer did and wait for the right gig to open up... 1 Quote Link to comment
