2015 College Football Playoff

Interesting that the two "traditional" power teams are matched up (Bama/MSU) and the two more wide open teams are on the other side.

Really be interested to see the Bama/MSU game. Great chance for the B1G. Hopefully Cook is healthy. Would think he would be after four weeks off.

I think, by overvaluing Clemson and MSU, that they got the two worst potential opening round matchups.

Call me a conspiracy guy or anti-sec guy but wonder how much putting MSU over OU was done to help Bama and or set up a possible OU-Bama finals to make ESPN more money. MSU is a much better match up for Bama and just don't think they have the athletes to go toe to toe with them for 4 quarters. It will not be cold, rainy & windy like it was that day when OSU became 1-dimensional. Go read the Bama boards and their fans are most pleased about not playing OU in Dallas.

If MSU can only score 16 against Iowa they aren't scoring that many against Bama's D. Bama's O is solid enough to pound and get flashy when needed to score on MSU. 24-13 Bama

I'm with Creed. Jeff Long said this (MSU jumping OU) was about wins against top ten teams and the win over Iowa. He could have chosen his words in such a way as to obscure the issue over a lack of consistency but he didn't. MSU already had the advantage in wins over top ten teams last week and jumping a team ahead of you for beating a team ranked below the team you jumped...if you follow...is ludicrous. If Long had just said something along the lines of, "The win over Iowa made Michigan State's body of work superior to that of Oklahoma's..." instead of what I'll paste below, I might have been less suspicious.

“Great discussion, great debate,” College Football Playoff Committee chairman Jeff Long said of the choice between Michigan State and Oklahoma. “Both conference champions, both four wins over Top 25 teams, but what it came down to was really Michigan State with two top 10 wins and then adding the win over last week’s No. 4-ranked team. I think when you looked at the body of work, the complete resume, that’s what pushed Michigan State just slightly ahead of Oklahoma.”’

In the interest of full disclosure, I got some long odds on Oklahoma (+700) and Clemson (+280) to win the whole thing a few weeks back such that I was mostly just disappointed they'd be playing early. The lack of consistency and credibility for this playoff committee is still disheartening. That we're used to funny business in college football doesn't make it okay.

The green Sparty jacket would look okay if it didn't have those goofy Sparty dangle thingies on it. As it is, it looks like some sort of medieval leprechaun costume.

I know it's supposed to be like this:

But it just looks insane
