Purdue, which returned four starters and 11 letterwinners from a team that went 21-13 before losing to Cincinnati in the second round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The Boilermakers opened the season with 11 straight wins and were ranked as high as ninth in the country in December, but have remained in the polls throughout the year. Two of the four losses for Coach Matt Painter’s team have been to Iowa, which is ranked third in this week’s AP poll. Purdue’s strength is its frontcourt with the duo of A.J. Hammons (13.5 ppg, 7.8 rpg) and Caleb Swanigan (10.1 ppg, 8.9 rpg), although Swanigan missed Wednesday’s game at Minnesota with an ankle injury. In addition, 7-foot-2 sophomore Isaac Hass comes off the bench and adds 10 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. PaulCrewe Posted January 30, 2016 Share Posted January 30, 2016 This is the type of game i need to see to really get a better feel of this squad. Purdue obviously had a huge advantage in the paint and will push that advantage. Jacobson and Marrow MUST avoid foul trouble to even have a chance in this one. Also will be interesting to see if Purdue's Bigs deter Shields and Watson and Tai from attacking the rim. When these guys do attack the room this team plays so much better. Hopefully miles goes with that full court pressure that we saw a lot against Michigan. That is something I've been begging to see out of this team the past couple if years to help fight against their size disadvantages. This helps create turnovers and forces the other team to eat up more clock grout getting into their offense which will only HEP in games like todays. 0-3 @ Purdue, can this change? Not letting the size disadvantage dictate the game and it may. I still think Purdue by 8+ 1 Quote Link to comment

And we killed them a couple years ago at home when we doubled on Hammons and played tight inside. This will come down to how we shoot the ball because we won't be getting much in the paint. If we can knock down 3's and the occasional steal and fast break we have a chance. Quote Link to comment

We're also going to have to end the game with more possessions than Purdue. Defensively, I'm not sure there's anything we'll be able to do inside. Quote Link to comment
