Been an Auburn lean for awhile now. Their LB'er coach did work.

I honestly dont know why a kid of his caliber commits right now if he has other schools he is interested in. Every team in the country would take him whether they had a spot or not so he is not losing a spot with anyone. He has Nebraska in his top 3, he said he wants to visit. Why not wait until you have visited all 3 schools that are in your top 3 until you pull the trigger. Probably like a 10% chance we would end up with him. But you never say never. My personal opinion why not wait till you finish the Nebraska visit?

Likely because he has zero intention of playing at Neb.

Being included in the top 3 was a nice tip of the cap to Barry and Dixon, his good friends.

I think there is a mixture of pressure from coaches who potentially might threaten that an offer is only available for a certain amount of time or a player just knows its the right fit.

I agree and dont think too much in to verbal offers at this point.

If Owen goes out and kills it this season and gets 10 more offers from teams he loves, he will leave.

If he goes out and screws up his leg or some other guy rated about Owen likes Auburn more, they will just pull the offer or sort of "show him the door".

expecting 16-18 year olds to stay committed for this long is a bit of a hope/prayer but who knows.

I understand all that. I just think it makes sense to wait. I know I have gone into things thinking "I am not interested in this at all, but I will hear them out". Then sure as s#!t I end up doing it.

I hear you on that, but I doubt Neb is losing sleep over this.

Good luck to Owen, be interesting to see where he ends up in the end.
