Langsdorf / Mannion

Armstrong is at least on the cusp of being able to have a great senior season. In my opinion, a reasonable and achievable goal for him (given he is the starter) is a 59% completion percentage, 25 TD's and about 8 INT's. Though, I wouldn't be shocked if he threw slightly more picks.

At this point Tommy is who he is. I think you need to put him in the best spot to succeed and work towards his strengths and give him spots to make the right decision come easy.

Roll out/option read/ tight end heavy.

Fix mechanics the best you can but sadly decision making is pretty much set in stone.

That being said.. Sean Mannion doesnt have a ton of PURE talent(in my opinion), but worked hard.

That being said.. wont be in the NFL that long is my guess.

This is good publicity for NU.

As for Tommy: the only thing stopping Tommy Armstrong is Tommy Armstrong. He could absolutely be much better in 2016. He's just gotta put in the work. How bad does he want it? That's a question he'll answer with his actions every day of this off-season.

I honestly don't know much about this guy other than he played for Riley and got drafted.

However, If he is there because of hard work, I'm not going to bet against him sticking around a long time. Maybe not starter. But, guys like this sometimes have a long career floating around from team to team.

Don't get me wrong I think Tommy is capable of making these kind of throws, just not on a consistent basis. His mechanics are pretty sporadic at times, throwing off his back foot a lot and probably not having a lot of natural arm talent when it comes to throwing touch passes.

Can't change his mechanics. That takes 1000's of reps. You can truly evaluate the passes he throws well on a consistent basis. Limit the route trees and really design a complete game plan around his strengths.

I don't think mechanics are anywhere close to the biggest problem that held him back last year.
