The Badgers have won five straight games after a 1-4 Big Ten start. Gard, who took over for Bo Ryan following Wisconsin’s win over Texas A&M Corpus-Christi on Dec. 13, has guided the Badgers to a pair of wins over ranked teams, including a one-point win over then-No. 5 Michigan State. The Badgers returned just two starters from a team that went 36-4 and lost to Duke in the national title game. Junior Nigel Hayes has been one of the Big Ten’s best frontcourt players, averaging a team-high 17.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Redshirt freshman Ethan Happ (12.3 ppg; 8.1 rpg) and junior Bronson Koenig (13.4 ppg; 2.2 apg) supplement Hayes’ offensive production. 1 Quote Link to comment
Comish
Before Shavon's injury, this was a game I thought was semi-favorable for us. We seem to really match-up with any team that doesn't overpower us in the paint, and Whisky fits that criterion. Now, we really need to McVeigh to play with confidence, shoot with confidence and gets us some rebounds to make this competitive. This would be a really, really, great opportunity for him to get going. Quote Link to comment
RedSavage
It should be very interesting to see how this team plays without Shavon Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
With McVeigh starting, the most important thing is spacing. Jack has become more willing to shoot when he is open and so we need to give him that chance. That being said, no Shavon will make it very difficult to spread the floor since we dont have one of our best penetration threats. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
White & Watson will need to play well, but either McVeigh or Webster will need to step up! Quote Link to comment
Mavric
That didn't take long. McVeigh to the bench with two fouls in less than three minutes. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Nigel Hayes should have a field day hanging out at the free throw line against this zone. He always had a very good mid range game. Definitely hope good Tai shows up tonight Quote Link to comment
pigskin barnyard mcgiggles
Why does this team refuse drive it to the paint. Take two dribble to the free throw line then run back to the 3 line. 1 Quote Link to comment
pigskin barnyard mcgiggles
Pass the ball on the break. He's wide open on the wing. Quote Link to comment
