OWH: History of Husker Walk-Ons in the NFL Draft

Recommended Posts

The Husker walk-on program is a point of great pride for fans and players alike. It resonates when a player takes a shot, often times turning down scholarship offers at other schools, and turns that into an opportunity to make a name for himself on the gridiron. And because of that, there are numerous players' names etched in the NU record books who took that path.

But getting drafted in the NFL? That's another level — a level that could be reached by former Gretna standout Andy Janovich this week. Many believe Janovich to be a late-round pick.
And while it's rare that a player who started as a walk-on gets drafted, it's not unheard of.

Too many players to list but it's an interesting read.
