Game-by-Game W-L Predictions

Recommended Posts

I was going to make this a poll, but you can only have 3 questions, so it wouldn't work.

I'd like to get an average on what everyone thinks our likely W-L record will be on a game-by-game basis. So reply to this with a "W" "L" or "T" (for toss-up game) by each game. Here's mine:

Fresno W

Wyoming W

Oregon T

@ Northwestern W

Illinois W

@ Indiana W

Purdue W

@ Wisconsin T

@ tOSU L

Minnesota W

Maryland W

@ Iowa T

or you can just list the losses & toss-ups:

Likely Losses: Ohio State

Toss-Ups: Oregon, Wisc, Iowa

Fresno - Win by a good margin.

Wyoming - Win but it's an interesting first half.

Oregon - Win but we have to make a comeback after not being ready for their offense in the first half.

@NW- Toss up. Has been ever since Nebraska joined the Big Ten.

Illinois - Win but it's close.

@IU - Win but it's close.

Purdue - Win.

@Wisconsin - Loss. They've had our number.

@Ohio State - Loss.

Minnesota - Win its a lower scoring slug fest.

Maryland - Win but it's close

@Iowa - Toss up but I see a L.

Fresno - Win by a score of roughly 49-22

Wyoming - Win but they make a late push

Oregon - Win on the final drive 28-26

@NW - Win, and big. Like 52-13 big

Illinois - Win a lazy game by 20 unimpressively

@IU - Our defense comes out lazy and we have to explode in the 4th to win an early shootout

Purdue - Shutout, 40-0

@Wisconsin - Win, they come out beaten up and we take an early lead and win 38-20

@Ohio State - Loss, but it's only by 9 points

Minnesota - Win, an early scare gets stuffed by the D

Maryland - Win an easy game, 39-10

@Iowa - Win, like we did the first couple times we played em

*note: ^ that is best case scenario. I think we go 9-3 on the year.

I honestly laughed out loud. Why do people think we do anything better than .500?

Why not, what is the fun in being a debbie downer which is what going .500 next year would be. I know we lost 7 last year, but four of the losses were games that could have basically gone either way. BYU, Whisky, NW, Illinois were basically toss up games at the end. They could have gone either way. You win all those games and instead of a 6-7 season it is 10-3. Winning 3 of the 4 is 9 and 4. Why not be opptimistic.

The only loss I see on the schedule right now is OSU. The rest are wins or toss up games. I have a good feeling about the season. I think the defense is going to be better, it won't be completely shut down, but I think it will hold its own most of the time. I think we run the ball real well next year, which is key to having a good offensive output. I rewatched UCLA game today. I hope DL and MR rewatch that game a lot this summer and get it into their head that NU can run the ball.

I can't figure out if the fans that think NU will kind of suck next year are Pro-Riley are Anti-Riley. Seems like it is a mixture of both...like all of a sudden some fans are acting like Iowa is this tough team when usually every other post about them is how pathetic they are...

I see 10-2 and I see that because NU is better than all but 2 teams on that schedule. NU also has a better coach than all but 1 team they play next year.

9 wins is easy.

Until it's hard.

Fresno St: Win by 21+ They're bad.

Wyoming: Win by 27+ They're worse.

Oregon: Loss by 14+. Back and forth through the 3rd quarter. Oregon has way more talent than us and it shows in the 4th quarter. They win by 2+ scores. Hopefully it doesn't get ugly.

@ Northwestern: Loss by 3-10. Tommy is going to make some head scratching and costly decisions that cost us this game.

Illinois: Win by 14+. We. f'ing. Better. Riley will not survive two years of getting beat by Illinois. If we lose this game, things could go south quickly.

@ Indiana: Win by 17+ They'll avenge the loss come basketball season.

Purdue: Win by 24+ We. f'ing. Better.....seriously.

@ Wisconsin: Loss by 3-17, until this team proves to me that they can win big time games, in prime time, on the road, I am going to assume that it's not going to happen. Would love to be wrong.

@ tOSU: Blowout Loss. It will pit the Boleavers vs the Bolievers and the battle cry is going to be "there goes the 'at least Riley doesn't get blown out' argument"

Minnesota: Loss by 3-14. Coming off back to back brutal road games, I think we're going to be beat up. Hope I'm wrong.

Maryland: Win by 14+ Steffon Diggs isn't coming back anytime soon.

@ Iowa: Win by 3+. The road team has had weird success in this series. The trend continues this year and we squeak out a win.

B1G championship : No

Bowl Game vs Arkansas and we rail on BB for being a fat douche bag for a few weeks. We win this game by 7.

Final record: 8-5
