Mavric
In the wake of senior Andrew White’s departure this week from the Nebraska basketball program, coach Tim Miles is actively seeking at least one immediately eligible player for this season. “We’re in a difficult position because it is late – really late,’’ Miles said Tuesday. “But our staff is regrouping as we speak.’’ Nebraska knew in recent months it was possible White would leave. “But it’s hard to attract anybody we would want when there’s so little room on the roster,’’ Miles said. “Now that we have an attractive roster spot open, we hope it gets some attention.’’ Miles said any late addition for 2016-17 needs to have strong athleticism and the ability to score from the perimeter. Mavric
Or .... you know .... maybe a post presence.... Quote Link to comment
HuskermanMike
Mav what about an athletic 6'7 or 6'8 guy that can score offensively and play good perimeter and post defense? I think those kind of guys are off the market right now though so I will trust Miles gets a good scorer and we put Morrow or Jacobsen as back up post. Quote Link to comment

Morrow and Jacobsen are already the back up posts. Tshimanga is not going to play over 25 minutes per game and I won't be surprised if he's around 20 (and that's assuming he's even good enough to play at all). So for the better part of the game one of those guys is going to be playing the 5 and the other the 4. There isn't much to choose from out there at this point. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get anyone. But I don't think we should limit our looking to perimeter guys. Quote Link to comment
Huskball
This is going to sound like a joke - but actually isn't. Hopefully, they have Fuller concentrating more on this outside range. Coming into college, he was an over 35% shooter from 3-point range and had a couple good games his 1st year after redshirt. I'm not talking AWIII numbers, but now that we have a little more size maybe he doesn't have to be quite so pigeon-holed. He hasn't found a role yet, so maybe this could be his opportunity. BigRedBuster
I think the only thing they really can add at this point to make a huge impact is an actual post player with experience. I think we have pretty much all other positions covered relatively well even though we lack experience. We just need a big guy. Problem is, they aren't going to find one this late. Hayseed
I'd spend more time with the guys we have and quit looking for a needle in a haystack. The idea that the loss of Andrew White is some kind of surprise is laughable and to use that as an excuse for a bad season would make me wonder if we have the right coach. Quote Link to comment
