98. LB Josh Banderas, Nebraska. Limited to nine games a season ago, Banderas still registered 61 tackles; his seven tackles for loss tied for second on the team.

95. P Sam Foltz, Nebraska. He enters his third season as the starter, this after leading the Big Ten in punting yard average last season en route to claiming Big Ten Punter of the Year.

82. RB Terrell Newby, Nebraska. While Devine Ozigbo figures to steal carries, the former can’t-miss recruit out of California is experienced and can inflict damage on the ground (765 yards, 6 TD) and through the air (24 rec., 159 yards, 1 TD).

78. WR Brandon Reilly, Nebraska. He’s known for the (controversial) game-winning touchdown vs. eventual Big Ten champion Michigan State, but Reilly’s a consistent threat (40 rec., 754 yards, 4 TD) in a loaded Nebraska receiving corps.

75. K Drew Brown, Nebraska. Brown scored 107 points in 2015, including 21-of-27 on field goals (78 percent), and the Cornhuskers’ offense figures to be more potent this fall.

64. OL Nick Gates, Nebraska. The Huskers’ new left tackle is a mauler and has a mean side to him. He is the best lineman on the Huskers’ offensive line.

57. WR/RS De’Mornay Pierson-El, Nebraska. One of the few players in the Big Ten who can score every time he touches the ball, Pierson-El, who’s coming off an injury-riddled 2015, doubles as an electric return man (three punt returns for TDs in 2014).

53. QB Tommy Armstrong Jr., Nebraska. Set to enter his fourth year as the Huskers’ starting quarterback, Armstrong Jr. ranks second in school history in career passing yards and touchdown passes.

33. WR Jordan Westerkamp, Nebraska. There are faster wideouts and there stronger wideouts, but there aren’t many as consistent as Westerkamp, who also boasts one of the best set of hands in the Big Ten.

 

31. DB Nate Gerry, Nebraska. He led Nebraska in tackles (79) last season, in addition to pacing the team in interceptions (4) for the second consecutive season.
