zoogs
It's kind of scary the extent to which Trump's fashioned himself as a modern day prophet-hero. Oh, he and everyone else, I guess. So what's truly terrifying is the extent to which millions follow him. Link to comment
NM11046
Oh they're reporting it Don - truthfully, which is why you're upset. NYAG is also truthful. How many days left until he's gone? Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Donald Trump unable to dissolve charitable foundation due to criminal investigation Donald Trump may have vowed to dissolve the controversial foundation established in his name, but officials said he cannot do so while it is the subject of criminal investigation. The President-elect said that he wanted to close the Donald J. Trump Foundation in an effort to try and remove any potential conflicts of interest before he takes office on January 20. But the office of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, said the 70-year-old Republican would be unable to proceed with the plan, as the foundation remained the subject of a probe. “The Trump foundation is still under investigation by this office and cannot legally dissolve until that investigation is complete,” said Amy Spitalnick, a spokeswoman for Mr Schneiderman. The Associated Press said the workings of the foundation have been under investigation for several months. The charity has admitted that it violated IRS regulations barring it from using its money or assets to benefit Mr Trump, his family, his companies or substantial contributors to the foundation. The news agency said the admissions by the charity were in a 2015 tax filing made public after a presidential election in which it was revealed that the tycoon had used the charity to settle lawsuits, make a $25,000 political contribution and purchase items, including a painting of himself. Methinks Donald is feeling a bit insecure about his "charitable foundation."And, just for kicks, here is Charity Navigator's ratings for both the Clinton Foundation and the DJT Foundation: Clinton Foundation: Overall: 94.74 (out of 100) Financial: 97.50 Accountability/Transparency: 93.00 DJT Foundation: No rating, Charity Navigator Moderate concern warning It's hilarious but deeply saddening to see the same Congressional leaders who spat all over the Clinton Foundation for NOTHING turn around and say "There are no laws against this! The President CAN'T have conflicts of interest!" Deeply troubling stuff. I can't believe people of such low integrity representing us on a values ticket. 4 Link to comment

NM11046
I believe that he said he won't pull any US folks from Russia after Obama's sanctions were announced. You know, he won't make retributions for our retributions for their spying and impacting the election. Link to comment
Danny Bateman
He's just trolling America at this point. But yeah, just for the record, we kicked out spies and closed Russian intelligence compounds here. This is Russia's response: We shouldn't be softening to these people. Putin and his people are damn autocratic, authoritarian cowards. I mean, kick the diplomats out if you want. Don't do half measures that punish their children. This appears to be their way to try to force the diplomats out while maintaining plausible deniability. Link to comment
zoogs
What is this in reference to? That's the President-elect of the United States of America cheering on Russia's response to U.S. sanctions over their interference in the elections. Link to comment

Moiraine
Some Fox idiots are saying Putin/Russia should be given a clean slate when Trump becomes president. The hell? What kind of message is that to send? Invade whoever you want - we'll forgive you in 4-8 years. 1 Link to comment
zoogs
The media -- including those that have been inclined to oppose Trump -- exists in part to normalize. This can be fairly harmless when the president is basically normal. At minimum, it provides a template for the media to decry him when they discover actions that stray from the norms he signals he affirms. But norms are fragile, indeed. If the president questions all of them the media will be under enormous pressure to go along with it, to some extent. Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Fox idiots are only saying that because their team won. It's the quintessential problem with some in party right now - they're willing to go along with a murderous autocrat who's undermining both our own free democratic process and world stability because he pushed their team to a win. The head of their team is a chucklehead who probably owes a large sum of money to Putin and/or thinks he can benefit financially by appeasing him. People who push the "embrace Putin" path should be named and shamed. Putting party over country at its finest. Link to comment
