There's losing games.  And then there's not even being remotely competitive.

Ouch.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..................

Lost the last two by a combined 76 points.

Lost 15 of the last 17.

More interesting question may be how bad is Rutgers (the only B1G team we beat)?

Because this game wasn't ugly enough, had to go full picture. Thanks Mav. At least you ended on a positive note. We beat a team!

Wow. What happened to the women's BB program. Didn't expect much from the men's, but thought the ladies was on solid ground.

Would be great to get some of the programs looking like they belong in a p-5 conference, besides Volleyball.

GBR!!!

Tough sledding ahead. At least the recruiting pitch of amazing facilities is there.

So, is this where the WBB program is going to be for a while?  Or, is this just a first year blip on the career of what is going to be a good coach for Nebraska?  Sure, some good players left along with some recruits.  And, I know Kissinger is coming next year.  Are people in general feeling good about where the program is headed or is it now in disarray and things are looking bleak?

I don't know the answer, but here's a recent OWH article that addresses it, and offers a little perspective:

http://www.omaha.com...bf24cb7499.html

With the loss, NU dropped to 5-19 overall and 1-11 in the Big Ten. Only one Husker team — the 2002-03 squad, the first for former coach Connie Yori — has arguably been as bad. That squad, facing a softer nonconference schedule, finished 8-20 overall and 1-15 in the Big 12.

....

On Yori’s first team, the leading scorer from the previous season — Paul Sanderford’s last squad — had a baby and missed the season. The Nos. 2 and 3 scorers transferred. In later years, Yori would recall that, in her first year, she was knocking on doors of sororities, looking for players; she eventually had three walk-ons come through fall tryouts. Two All-Americans from the Husker volleyball team played for her, too.

I won't give Coach Williams a total mulligan for this year, but I think sometimes in basketball the loss of a handful of your best players can be devastating, and having a broken locker-room culture can make a huge difference.

Coach Williams is a good recruiter in this region, and there is a lot of talent in the upper midwest for women's sports.  I'd give her more time based on past results, IMHO.

Yeah....that's what I'm trying to wrap my head around.  I think it's best to just forget about this season and look forward.  We have a 5* player coming in with T Kiss and now have picked up another top 100 recruit.  That gives me hope the program can rebound from this.

The influx of talent should immediately at least make this team more competitive I'd think. Two high level players should at bare minimum accomplish that. Will they have a winning record? probably not, but it should be a good step in the right direction.

To be fair, it'd be hard to take many more steps in the wrong direction. As with all coaches, I think you need to give them time to build their own culture and get their own players in. This recruiting cycle has been about as good as you could imagine. Optimistic going forward!
