Trump's cabinet

Recommended Posts

Was listening to NPR on the way home, they were interviewing conservatives in the midwest about the cabinet choices, and the following came out of some guy from OK (paraphrased):

"I think the fact that the people he's selecting are already wealthy is good, it means they have nothing to gain from these positions, and they can't be bribed." As the lead in this man described himself as "lower working class, hoping for improvements in jobs and America in general"

I almost had to pull my car over. There was more, but I couldn't actually listen to it ... laughing too hard.

I think I caught part of that segment. A lower working class rural man mentioned something to the effect that the wealthy are so punished and overburdened by their tax liability in this country. It's astounding that working class folks actually think the wealthy have any interest other than continuing to exploit the bottom 80-85% of this country.

Like now that the wealthy have money they don't want more. Simpletons.

The other part was that "there's nobody better to drain the swamp than these people who could be considered part of it" vs. government officials.

To be COMPLETELY fair, Obama never stated he would not do it. Herr Trump did and constantly whined that doing so was improper. It was part of his "drain the swamp" lie. It wasn't the act - it was that he lied about how his administration would not engage in the practice.

I am so confused. What do we do when satire news is the same as the actual news???

One of Donald Trump’s central presidential campaign promises was to “drain the swamp” by ridding Washington politics of corruption and corporate influence. Here’s how he plans to do it.

  • Say it a lot
  • Fill cabinet with Wall Street executives to ensure as many billionaires as possible are incriminated in any potential impeachment proceedings
  • Cancel Easter Egg Roll
  • Cut funding for the cesspool of nepotism and greed known as the National Science Foundation
  • Getting Rick Perry involved should do the trick
  • Tax cuts for high earners so that CEOs are no longer forced to make ends meet by taking jobs in presidential administration
