Look at this letter from former USFL team owner John Bassett to Trump from 1984.  The man hasn't changed in 33 years.

Pretty amazing. We had his record for a long time and the nation voted for this creep.  This is but one small example of his record - multiply that 1000x.   He does the same with his interaction wt nations, Congress (regardless of party), civil rights marchers, and now the NFL of all things.   I just read your post of the long Seth Amberson tweed thread - he describes Trump well.  Trump holds no conviction, has no loyalties but to himself and his brand and will turn on a dime.  As someone said, Trump is persuaded by the last person in the room - the last opinion expressed on a topic (regardless if that last person's opinion is valid or not) because Trump has no core values.   One minute he is shaming someone and the next he is his friend because they are supporting something he likes (think of Senator Schummer - now a workable friend or in the reverse Republican leadership - now disdained by him). Yes the nation is under an 'anxiety attack' because we have a rudderless, egomaniac as leader who is loyal only to self.

It's a Free Country(TM). Failure to comply with public displays of patriotism will result in consequences.

Talk about setting yourself up to get sued. This won't take 5 seconds for a judge to crush a public school and the LHSAA for limiting a student's 1st Amendment rights.

Obama committed the unforgivable act of becoming President while Black.

If Obama were some simple-talking establishment figure with the right skin pigment (he's already one of those three), he and The Donald would have gotten along famously, and Trump would probably still be in the liberal camp today shouting Third Way talking points with the same gusto.

Instead, the best way I've ever seen this put is that Trump saw a black man become the leader of his country and his world, and it melted his mind.

Ya, I'm thinking... we've been "letting" certain Christian denominations not participate in this kind of thing forever. I can't see any other reason behind it being a thing now than because it's mostly Black men who do it.

This is incredible, but sadly, just another footnote on the Trump administration.

You can no longer plausibly deny that if you're supporting Trump right now, you're cool with supporting racism.

Perhaps related to the slow response to PR:

Trump owes big $$ to PR for his defunct golf course (of course I thought he was successful at everything he touched :sarcasm)

Donald Trump is facing fresh scrutiny over the bankruptcy of a golf club he managed in Puerto Rico after blaming the Atlantic Ocean for his Government’s inadequate response to Hurricane Maria’s devastation

The US president said “a thing called the Atlantic Ocean” made it “tough stuff” for FEMA, the US federal disaster relief agency, to respond to a crisis that has left 3.4 million people without electricity.

Those comments have led to renewed claims that the 70-year-old "owes" the islanders money himself after the failure of the Coco Beach Golf Club, renamed the Trump International Golf Club Puerto Rico after the businessman took it over.

The golf club collapsed following the recession, leaving Puerto Rican taxpayers out of pocket to the tune of $32.7m, according to a bankruptcy court filing from the government..

Wow. If there is a link between that and the lethargic response... that might be the most cruel and unconscionable he's done yet.
