Looks like Adidas teams will be sporting "Heritage" (read: Throwback) uniforms at some point this season. Here's some, including the Huskers'

This is probably a good thing for Nebraska. We'll pack the park and they know it.

Why not Omaha?

The B1G Baseball Tournament is coming back to Omaha from 2018 to 2022.  The Big East Baseball Tournament was held in Omaha in 2015, I haven't seen anything for 2017.

Here is the press release from the Big Ten Conference, http://www.bigten.or.../011917aaa.html

The Omaha mention is in the 2nd to last paragraph.

Those are pretty cool.  My son has hat day at school on Friday, and then he goes to a baseball workout afterwards.  I want him to wear his Nebraska baseball hat to school and then baseball because his coach is a former Oklahoma player.

This is going to be a good one, and a treat for those living in North Texas and Oklahoma City.

03/04 Arkansas# 7:30 PM

And the field is beautiful (Dr.Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, TX).  Old school in style, but contemporary.  And a great atmosphere.

couldn't believe when read the pitching rotation for this weekend, 1. Waldron 2. Tillotson-Colorado Player of the year last year 3. BEN FLIPPING MILLER!!!!!!! 4. Jake Meyers.

1-2 and 4 are understandable but you're telling me BEN MILLER is one of the four best we have got!!!!

youre telling me any of Burkamper, Mcsteen, Engelken, or Eddins. NONE of them are better or have improved enough to pass up BEN MILLER!!!

maybe I'm blowing this way out of proportion, but my lord i feel like we have to have better than this.

It will be fine. Erstad said it would be like 3 innings, basically by committee. Burkamper is still working his way back from shoulder soreness.

“We’re not going to go and throw a guy 100 pitches,” Erstad said. “Everybody isn’t built up like how they’re going to be in a few weeks, and guys like Nate Fisher, Jake McSteen and Luis Alvarado — guys who are either coming off an injury or haven’t pitched at all — they’re one-time-a-weekend guys, so they’ll be in that 45-50-pitch range.”

Burkamper, McSteen, Fisher are all coming off injury, no need to push the envelope. And it's a 4 game series. Like as was already stated, he is just the first guy that'll be out there in a full bullpen rotation day. Have some faith.

The rotation in the middle/end of the year will look a lot different than it does right now.  I agree with you in that there is no reason to push a guy coming off an injury.  SeaofRed needs to step off the ledge.

Couple things to help you feel better:

1.  Meyers isn't pitching until Sunday so that he can play CF in the first 3 games.  Can't have him in the outfield throwing right after he has pitched.

2.  The forecast is calling for rain Saturday, so Erstad lined up his top 2 remaining starting pitchers (knowing Burkamper can't start/Meyers pitches Sunday) for tomorrow's double-header.  IF they play game 3 on Saturday, I'm sure we're going to see Johnny All-Staff eat up those innings.  Miller is just the first reliever who will start the game on the mound.

just don't like it fellas, if we don't have 4 starters to start the season theres a problem. the problem is the fact that we have to johnny all staff. all this means to me is the talent is still not there.

Miller was a top-50 left-handed pitcher coming out of HS.

Keep in mind last season we started Howell/King/Engelken as our opening weekend starters, so a lot can change by the time conference play begins.  It takes time for everyone's roles to be defined within the rotation/bullpen.

And he has pitched all of a half inning since!

By the way, know a little background in this mojo kid, he's going to be the real deal. He will be a regular face around here for the next 4 years

If he's the real deal, he'll leave early.

I got my damn wish! It's a sign from the gods, NO BEN MILLER START WOOOOOO,

I'm sure the baseball team is glad for all the support you are giving them.

I'm sure Darin is happy that you are satisfied that Miller won't be starting at pitcher this weekend.

What makes you a specialist or do you have something against this kid?

Don't know much about this team. Has someone already posted projections for how we might do? Usually make it out to a game or two during the year. Love watching baseball at Haymarket Park.

NU was predicted to finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference, and make a NCAA regional.  Erstad's goal this year is for NU to host a NCAA tournament regional.  Hope this helps.

I listened to the Schleppenbach interview with Josh Peterson on 1620 last week before the opening weekend. Schleppenbach made a comment about the team having a "business-like" attitude going into this season. That was kind of cringeworthy for me. It works for some teams, but for a team who hasn't done jack for nearly a decade and especially this program who should have 1-2 conferences titles, it gives me cause for concern.

If this is another season like last year...relying on knocking the ball around the park, instead of playing at least some small ball and putting runners in motion to create opportunities, it's going to be another disappointing season.

1-3, more ass whoopings coming forthwith. All this and a coach we can never fire. Whoopee!
