spurs1990
Don't know much about this team. Has someone already posted projections for how we might do? Usually make it out to a game or two during the year. Love watching baseball at Haymarket Park. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Don't know much about this team. Has someone already posted projections for how we might do? Usually make it out to a game or two during the year. Love watching baseball at Haymarket Park. NU was predicted to finish 2nd or 3rd in the conference, and make a NCAA regional. Erstad's goal this year is for NU to host a NCAA tournament regional. Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
Savage Husker
I listened to the Schleppenbach interview with Josh Peterson on 1620 last week before the opening weekend. Schleppenbach made a comment about the team having a "business-like" attitude going into this season. That was kind of cringeworthy for me. It works for some teams, but for a team who hasn't done jack for nearly a decade and especially this program who should have 1-2 conferences titles, it gives me cause for concern. If this is another season like last year...relying on knocking the ball around the park, instead of playing at least some small ball and putting runners in motion to create opportunities, it's going to be another disappointing season. Mary Pats BOB
1-3, more ass whoopings coming forthwith. All this and a coach we can never fire. Whoopee! Quote Link to comment
hskrfan4life
Definitely sucks to lose Eddins. What's the medical redshirt rules for baseball? Quote Link to comment
spurs1990
Big two wins to get Big 10 play off on the right foot. Hope this momentum can continue Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
.... that doesn't negate starting a season 2-6. Still a very average team, IMO Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
5th in the conference (via RPI) in a conference that is literally the most pathetic baseball conference out there. The same conference we said we should dominate when we walked in the door because of how weak it was. Quote Link to comment

The same conference we said we should dominate when we walked in the door because of how weak it was. Drama much? There are at least a dozen conferences that are more 'pathetic' than the B1G, and we're playing a Top 25 team this week in Maryland. Maybe we should just focus on winning our conference first before we complain about how 'pathetic' the B1G is in baseball (especially when that isn't the reality). I'm all for this year being Erstad's last chance to prove he should helm this team, but let's not denigrate the B1G when we can't get our own s*** in order. Also, conference rank proof that we're not 'the most pathetic baseball conference out there': http://warrennolan.com/baseball/2017/conference/Big-Ten Conference Rank RPI: 6 NPI: 6 ELO: 7 Considering our conference plays with a significant disadvantage, this is pretty good. With this we'll get 3-4 teams in the NCAA Tournament if this holds. Quote Link to comment
