Tang.

Great call! I saw that in the store the other day, had no idea they still made it! I thought that stuff was the best! Remember how you would add way more of the powder than needed?

NBA basketball. These days I'd rather watch a good college game where they play defense and have some teamwork.

Going to games. Now I would rather just watch them on TV.

As I contemplate upping my donation to move down a few rows, I'm really wondering whether it's worth it. Going to a game is becoming more of a hassle every year.

Better not be Stella Artois or Heineken because both are garbage.

We used to have a guy on here named Rollin Rock. He was cool. Whatever happened to that guy?

Nah, none of those. I don't really drink much beer at all; I'd rather have something with rum or vodka in it. I drank Australian beer for awhile and got used to it, then came back, and nothing really did it for me. I don't really drink a whole lot anyway; overconsumption runs in the family a bit.

Agree 100%. Haven't turned an NBA game in for years.

Would add mad dog 40/40, malto-meal and my 7th grade teacher.

Tang.

I'm gonna have to get some of that and try it again. Haven't had any since I was a little kid and I loved it then.

Circus peanuts. Remember those pale orange colored marshmallow candy things. Used to like them, can't stand 'em now. Seems we always had some of those in the house along with burnt peanuts and Boston baked beans. I still like to have some of those once in a while.

malt-o-meal definitely belongs. yuck.

as far as the NBA, it's probably never been more of a team sport than it is right now. at least not within the last 25 years.

Not to mention, the game currently has the most talented basketball player of all-time in his prime chuckleshuffle

We are talking about the National Basketball Association, right? Team sport? Not now, and not at anytime in the last 25 years.

I played a lot of basketball and used to love the NBA. Lost complete interest about the time Dennis Rodman came on the scene. Bird, Magic, Pistol Pete....those were the days. And the teams actually tried to stop each other from scoring. Imagine that....they played defense.

MS Windows. I used to like Windows when I had Windows 7. Then I installed Windows 10. Now I hate Windows.

Well, if they played defense in those days, they weren't very good at it. Team PPG is on par/or lower now, then it ever was in the 60s, 70s, 80s or most of the 90s.

The "in my day" argument doesn't work here.

It works for me. The topic is things you did like and don't anymore. The NBA is in that category for me. If you like it today, or think it's better than it used to be, good for you. You have a few more options during basketball season than I do. I'll take a college game every time over the NBA.

Indeed. I didn't say it is a team sport, just that it is more team-oriented than it has been in decades. You see it in things like the big 3's over the last decade in Boston, Miami, etc., and you also see it in the playing and coaching style of the best teams in the league ala the Spurs and Warriors.

If you don't watch it, how would you have any idea?

Hip-hop. I know there's still really good stuff out there if you put in the effort to track it down. I just don't care enough about the genre anymore to bother.

Good point. I don't have a very good idea what it's like anymore. I mean I'll check out part of a game from time to time and maybe watch some of the playoff games. But I watch way less than I used to. I just don't find it entertaining or compelling anymore.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a dick. I thought maybe you just meant you gave up stuff like Bud Light, Miller Lite, etc.

Movies. I don't know what happened to my attention span but I almost never can watch a whole one in one sitting.

I think this has to do with your gender. My wife hasn't made it through an entire movie without falling asleep in years, unless we go to the theatre.

My wife is the same way.... Then she'll get pissed at me when I continue to watch it without her. "You watched that without me!", "Why didn't you wake me up?" (i tried).

I think it depends on the movie. If it's a good movie (not some chick flick), I stay awake and she falls asleep. If she picks the movie, I'm usually out within 15 minutes.

Movies suck!

When I was a kid it was the most exciting thing to go to the gas station and pick out a movie or if we were really lucky to go the theater. Now the theater overcharges (probably did in 80's, but now I'm paying), and you can rent any movie still in your pajamas. I haven't found a movie in years where within 20 minutes of starting it I find myself wondering if it is the best use of my time...

So I usually watch movies at night, which means I opt for sleep.
