I think you're giving people too much credit. Obviously there are some out there who will pray for everyone, including their enemies. But many of these people think God helped Trump get elected. I've posted quotes before of some of these people who pray with Trump who've said, while praising Trump, that it just didn't feel the same with Obama.

I'm saying that the people you are referencing are not close to God.

MAGA is about nothing more than returning to that simpler time when no one had to apologize for white privilege.

If that's all it was, then I don't think it would be that big of a deal.  Side note: White privilege is real, however, it exists far above my station in life.  White privilege is almost exclusively reserved for upper class Protestants.  The stereo-typical WASP family that looks like they were painted by Norman Rockwell.

Instead, MAGA is so much more insidious than just "white privilege" alone.

MAGA, as a slogan/propaganda, is about erasing ALL non-whites, non-christians, immigrants, and all other "undesireables" from the American landscape.  It's about going back to a time when white men could murder non-whites, non-christians, LBGT people, commies, slap/abuse their wives/girlfriends around, say the N word, be as completely racist, bigoted, and homophobic as they want--with no fear of being fired or having to endure any other type of social blowback/retribution.

That's what makes MAGA as propaganda so dangerous; it is the willful adoption of the neo-nazi agenda and "normalizing" it under more "palatable" rhetoric.

This is why Trump is so dangerous.

I don't think you're correct here. White privilege exists through all classes, including poor White people. They have advantages that poor Black people lack. It's a lot of things we take for granted, like getting job interviews because of what our names are. That can positively affect a poor White person as easily as a rich White person. And I'm not going to look it up but I could almost guarantee a rich Black person is more likely to get pulled over than a poor White person.

Some data-backed stuff:

Quote

A 2015 study by the Center for Economic and Policy Research shows that whites with the exact same résumés as their black counterparts are hired at double the rate. In fact, a white man with a criminal history is more likely to be hired than an African American with no criminal past.

A similarly named, but different, organization—the Economic Policy Institute—examined 2015 data and discovered that at every level of education, whites were twice as likely to have jobs as blacks.

When it comes to credit, it is even worse. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research, The Atlantic reports, “even after controlling for general risk considerations, such as credit score, loan-to-value ratio, subordinate liens, and debt-to-income ratios, Hispanic Americans are 78 percent more likely to be given a high-cost mortgage, and black Americans are 105 percent more likely.” Even banks as large as Wells Fargo have lost cases for up-charging minorities.

I get what you're saying, I'm just speaking generally.  It is just one ancedotal example, but being white has never helped me get any "white collar" or high paying job.  Least ways not any job making more than 70k a year.  And the job I did have making about 60k year...that lasted about a year and a half.  Haven't come close to making that since.

Hey Chimi dont' be picking on one of my favorite painter/illustrators - Norman Rockwell.  It is his illustrations on the magazines of the late  50s and 60s  that shed light of the racial divide.

The Problem We All Live With is a 1964 painting by Norman Rockwell. It is considered an iconic image of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.[2] It depicts Ruby Bridges, a six-year-old African American girl, on her way to William Frantz Elementary School, an all-white public school, on November 14, 1960, during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis. Because of threats and violence against her, she is escorted by four deputy U.S. marshals; the painting is framed such that the marshals' heads are cropped at the shoulders.[3][4] On the wall behind her is written the racial slur "nigger" and the letters "KKK"; a smashed and splattered tomato thrown against the wall is also visible. The white protesters are not visible, as the viewer is looking at the scene from their point of view.[

You are likely doing better than anyone with a similar resume whose name is La'tron. That's white privilege.

I deliver auto parts for 11 bucks an hour for a living...so no...I am not.

And I have not one, but two college degrees--a BA from DONU and an AD from one those technical schools.  Neither being white or college educated has helped me in my life.  Being trans is also a huge hinderance to getting hired.  I'm not some uneducated doofus with no skills.  I have skills, I have talent.  What I lack is the family, political, and/or social connections to get a real job.  And by real job, I mean a career level job.  The kind of job that enables you to not only live, but save money for retirement, buy a house, etc.  Being white hasn't helped me at all.  That's why I say I know it exists, but it exists at a level way above my station in life.

Last paragraph which is from The Art of the Deal  - makes you want to scratch your head and go hummm.  Seems like I see this playing out right now.

The page of Mr. Trump’s book that stopped me in my tracks was one that might be the one by which he will ultimately be judged: “You can’t con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don’t deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on.”

Imagine if this said:

"Nader wanted a photo of himself with the president — a big request for a convicted pedophile ... Podesta suggested a donation between $100,000 and $250,000 ... The result: a picture of Nader and Hillary grinning in front of the American flag."
