Ric Flair
Cruz’s proposal seems very sensible. I’ll be curious to see whether the Democrats actually want the problem solved and will sign on, or are just looking to use the suffering of these kids as a wedge issue in November. Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Why isn't S.3036 sensible? It's cosponsored by every single member of the Democratic caucus in the Senate - 49 people - meaning it would take only two Republican senators crossing over to pass out of the chamber. They are quite clearly not the ones using the kids as political pawns. 1 Link to comment

methodical
It makes me wonder if republicans support the villains in super hero movies... except in the real world they don't have cool super powers or any actual genius to speak of, just an astounding lack of empathy for their fellow humans and narcissistic tendencies. Given that Team Obama was also housing people in cages and doing a whole host of thing to immigrants that you’re now all noticing for the first time and gnashing your teeth about, this whole thread qualifies as whataboutism. 2 Link to comment

It does nothing other than preventing separation from family unless for just cause, such as trafficking, child abuse or when we think the adult isn't their parent or legal guardian. The only thing that's wrong with the bill is it would require working with Democrats. 2 Link to comment
