2018 Offensive Line Recruiting

Recommended Posts

We have been doing well getting skill positions players from California and other places far away. It sure would be nice if we could get linemen from closer areas.

So, I looked at offensive linemen from Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, South Dakota, colorado. Here is what 247 has listed.

Trevor Downing Creston IA :star:star:star .8517 OG

Ezekiel Creps Arvada, CO :star:star:star .8188 OT

Andrew Todd Vinton, IA :star:star:star .8116 OT

Zach Ross Des Moines, IA :star:star:star .8016 OG

AJ Forbes Bellevue, NE Not Rated OG

Will Farniok Sioux Falls, SD Not Rated OC

Austin Skaggs Axtell, NE Not Rated OG

Chase Arends Dike, IA Not Rated OT

Marcus Greer St. Louis, MO Not Rated OG

Nolan Potter Cedar Rapids, IA Not Rated OT

James Alston Coffeyville CC Not rated OT

Thomas Kennedy Lee's Summit, MO Not Rated OT

I know most of these just haven't been rated yet. I would hope that players like Farniok would ultimately be rated fairly well.

As of right now though, with this little bit of info, it doesn't just jump out as an area that is going to produce a ton of stud O linemen.

It will be interesting to see how these ratings change over the next 12 months.

Man, hell of an offer list. Hopefully this is not a plan A guy.

Not sure we have any Plan A guys left.

If that's the case, I am inclined to believe that our line is going to have to have a stellar year to save Cav's job. Maybe that's wishful thinking.

What does Cav really offer on the recruiting trail or as an offensive line coach in general?

If memory serves me right Matt Slauson was unrated and he was a beast. Let's not forget these kids are 17 or younger they are still developing. The amount I grew every year of Highschool and two years of college is crazy. They still have room for development physically easy. This guy looks to have an OT frame he could be good. Give him a shot guys.

You might be right but I'd feel better if other schools aside from us, WSU and OSU also saw his "potential"

I know I get that, but developing players is just as important.

Can Cav do that?
