The Mike Pence Thread

Recommended Posts

So with all the threads here about Trump and detailing his ever increasing insanity and slide into meglomanical madness, I figured Mike Pence needs his own thread(s).

So, post whatever you find about Mike Pence here. I'll start:

Mike Pence said both he and President Trump support a "free and independent press...But you can anticipate that the president and all of us will continue to call out the media when play fast and loose with the facts...

I don't know whether to bust out laughing, or roll my eyes at the sheer stupidity, and irony, of this statement.

Or, there is this gem from when he was governor of Indiana, when he tried to install his own propaganda machine:

http://www.indystar.com/story/news/2015/01/26/pence-starts-state-run-news-outlet-to-compete-with-media/22370005/

A Pence spokeswoman on Monday downplayed the move, describing it as similar to the state's current online calendar of news releases, but with a new design. She declined to immediately answer other questions

Right, because if the Pence team calls it "state run media", people have a tendency to over-react and associate with other bastions of freedom such as North Korea's press, Saudi Arabia's press, or the immense freedom of Russia's 4th estate.

Ironically, Mike pence has far more in common with a corrupt 3rd world despot than he does a leader of a state in America.

Reminds me of that time that dirtbag Chaffetz reprimanded the head of the Office of Government Ethics for "not calling balls and strikes."

Ridiculous quotes like those come from a place of uber-partisanship and tortured cognitive dissonance. They come of as hacky and divorced from reality.

Pence says there's "no comparison whatsoever between Hillary Clinton's practice of having a private servers" and "mishandling classified information, destroying emails when they were requested by the Congress and by officials."

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/politics/ct-pence-emails-records-indiana-20170303-story.html

Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly stonewalled media requests to view public records when he was Indiana's governor, including emails about state business distributed from a private AOL account that was hacked last year. Revelations Pence used the account to discuss homeland security and other official matters, first reported Thursday by the Indianapolis Star, are just the latest in a series of transparency battles involving the Republican's tenure as governor.

Earlier this year, lawyers for Pence argued unsuccessfully in a civil case that Indiana courts had no authority to force him to comply with public records law.

What a ____ing hypocrite.
