What ever happened to the start of WW3 with Korea the media was screaming about months ago?

Why do you think this topic exists in the first place? It's because, unlike all past presidents, Trump went tit for tat with North Korea when it came to childish put downs and threats of attack. We never needed to do that because we actually have the capability that Kim brags about.

When you have one idiot leader of a country that probably isn't going to do anything, war doesn't seem inevitable. When you have 2 idiot leaders threatening to nuke each other, it changes things. North Korea wasn't acting much different; but the U.S. certainly was.

And I've heard this argument before that the media made this threat up, so it's obviously straight from Fox News. Trump is never responsible for any of his own actions, clearly. Except the actions he lies about working well.

TGH summarized the whole thing well. Trump ramped up the rhetoric  needlessly then went over there and "saved the day." What a hero.

Well are we at war with them? So theirs a dictator threatening to shoot nuclear weapons at the US and you’re mad that we have a sitting president who wants to stand up to that douchebag? Bahahahahaha

It’s not Trumps fault that a Democratic President gave North Korea the supplies and resources to invest into Nukes and we wouldn’t be in this predicament in the first place.

Its been nice chatting with ya.....GBR

Threatening nuclear war and using childish insults, all via tweet, is not "standing up to" anyone. Nor is meeting with their leader and getting along with him so well that you declare the threat is over and say you're going to stop "provocative" military games, and in addition to that tell people everyone's done bad stuff, as a way of underselling the cruelty of the leaders of North Korea toward their people.

Meanwhile he has accelerated his nuclear program.

So a failure of a past President is validation enough to prove Trump is amazing and deserves our full support?

most of his nuclear tests and rocket tests have come under the trump administration.   if it makes you feel better to blame someone else go for it.

This is exactly the type of response I knew I would get, but hoped that you would take a more somber, measured, and thoughtful approach.  Clearly I was wrong.

Trump accomplished NOTHING by meeting with Un.  Whatever they talked about, or conversationally agreed to, Un was NEVER going to follow through.  And Trump, being the most ignorant, self-important, f-tard that he is, claims great success when he in actuality did nothing.  This summit between Trump and Un is a shining example of the Trump presidency: all ignorant, baseless rhetoric with no substance.  But all you do is consume the moronic, right-wing propaganda stupidly spewed by FauxNews.

And further, earlier in this thread there is a video (from FauxNews) where Trump, without being prompted, lavishes praise on a psychotic, murderous despot.  And all the Trump-bot jump up and start applauding your "Dear Leader" like some kind of brain-washed cult member.

Why don't you take 10 minutess and actually think critically about what Trump is doing.  You can't though, you've invested too much at this point and to actually admit you made a terrible mistake would crush your fragile, republican ego.

Literally none of that is true.

In the 1990s we had a president who needed a dictionary to understand the word "IS".    "It depends upon what the meaning of the word is...is"

Fast forward to 2018. Now we have a president who doesn't understand the word 'De-nuclearization'  in the cultural context.  He and his team left the summit wt NK without a clear understanding or agreement on what that word means to both sides.  This is a cultural and negotiation failure on the highest level.  Trump comes back to declare NK will be nuke free soon while NK has the understanding that they can keep their nukes but they will limit or end any expansion of their nuke program.  Over the weekend after the SOS visit, they declared that our negotiation was 'gangster' like.    While we have to take into consideration their own propaganda, it is inexcusable that Trump and team left the summit with such a large gap in the understanding of the word 'DE-nuclearization'.

Tell me - what is more problematic:   1. Not understanding what the meaning of the word "IS".. is.  or 2. Not having a clear cut understanding and agreement by both parties on the meaning  of the word 'De-nuclearization'?!!!:dunno :o:facepalm:

U.S. spy agencies are seeing signs that North Korea is constructing new missiles at a factory that produced the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States, according to officials familiar with the intelligence.

Newly obtained evidence, including satellite photos taken in recent weeks, indicates that work is underway on at least one and possibly two liquid-fueled ICBMs at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe classified intelligence.

The findings are the latest to show ongoing activity inside North Korea’s nuclear and missile facilities at a time when the country’s leaders are engaged in arms talks with the United States. The new intelligence does not suggest an expansion of North Korea’s capabilities but shows that work on advanced weapons is continuing weeks after President Trump declared in a Twitter posting that Pyongyang was “no longer a Nuclear Threat.”
