Chicago Tribune ranks Big Ten coaching jobs

This list is rigged! Rutgers is not a better job than us, they had a cupcake non-con and that is why they had a better record than us this year.

it was noted the bottom 3 programs could really be arranged in any order.

Than what was the point of ranking them? He simply said Rutgers was trending up due to the fact that they were pouring millions of money into their athletic department. They have beat us one time off of a buzzer beater at home since joining the Big Ten and we have beat the all of the other times.

But as a coaching job it seems Rutgers would likely be better due to the fact NJ and NY are talent rich states. Not as much talent in the immediate area for Lincoln (though talent does exist here!)

Regardless, saying the list is rigged because of a 1 spot difference in opinion is questionable lol

Do you understand how trending works?

Yeah I thought you would take the rigged part as sarcasm..... but that's on me not you. :thumbs

The list is reasonable, I don't think Wisconsin would be three with all of the sweet 16's they have been making in the last four years compared to the rest of the conference but oh well. We are still a bottom half of the league job and at best the 11th best job in the conference.

Yea I do, I would assume we are trending up a little bit with bringing in a 5 star that Rutgers does not have and a solid swingman who sat out the whole year. Are we top 5 in conference? No, but we have lots of talent on the team, the problem is it is not being coached up to its talent. If Miles finally runs an offensive system that works to get everyone involved and move the defense more, we may win games. We also need to improve our 3 point defense that has all of a sudden become a problem.

I have no idea why we would be trending up when our last three years have been 13-18, 16-18, 12-19. Rutgers, on the other hand, improved 8 wins over the previous season in their first year with a fresh blood new head coach.

Fair point, I checked their record from the past year and they doubled their wins. So I guess they are trending up more than I thought. We will see how many more cupcakes they schedule in the next few years just like good ol Doc Sadler used to do. Most impressive non conference win was DePaul who was not good this year. They did beat us this year, but had zero wins against any team that made the tournament. A solid year for the Rutgers basketball program nonetheless after being a dumpster fire that was a total joke in this conference.
