What the Huskers Can Learn From Wisconsin

Recommended Posts

Tonight in Madison Square Garden, the Wisconsin Badgers continue their pursuit of a third Final Four in four seasons. The Georgetown Hoyas try to pick up the pieces.

Wait…what?

Twenty years ago, that paragraph would’ve been insane. From 1968-1993, guess how many times Wisconsin basketball had a winning record.

Four!

The Badgers were a joke. Then Stu Jackson gave the program hope. Then Dick Bennett took the Badgers to the Final Four as a No. 8 seed in 2000. Then Bo Ryan raised it another level.

Now they’ve made the NCAAs 19 straight seasons. Even more impressive, they’ve finished top-four in the Big Ten 17 consecutive years. That doesn’t seem possible for Indiana or Michigan State, let alone Wisconsin, which is one of the best turnaround stories in college basketball history and it doesn’t get enough credit.
