Huskers to Play UCLA on Back-to-Back Nights in Lincoln

Recommended Posts

A couple of the top college volleyball programs in the country will play a doubleheader in Lincoln this fall, although they’ll have time to sleep between contests.

Nebraska will host UCLA early in the 2017 season on back-to-back nights, a Friday and Saturday.

The Huskers’ full schedule isn’t ready to be announced, but coach John Cook shared a few details of the Huskers’ nonconference schedule during an interview on Thursday.

That includes the rare occurrence in the sport of playing the same team back-to-back.

“I’m kind of fired up. It’s like the NBA Finals,” Cook said. “I think it will be a really good learning weekend playing a team that you’re going to know pretty well, and play them again. So we’ll see how we can adjust and do things.”

UCLA and Nebraska have each won four NCAA championships in the sport. Last season, Nebraska finished No. 4 in the final poll, and the Bruins were No. 6.
