Mavric
"And if you remember, probably his best punting of the year was in the bowl game. He had a really nice day," Riley said. "We really focused on a very simple thing. We kind of took some directional punting out of it. We made it simple. (We said), 'You punt the ball 40 yards with a 4.0 hang time and we're going to be good.' And he had a great day. "Now you're talking about a guy that has a season under his belt and is a hard worker, and I'm telling you what, he is talented." If a stranger off the street showed up to a Nebraska practice and didn't know what was what, the person would first take Lightbourn for a linebacker and not a punter. The fact Lightbourn stands 6-foot-3, 230 pounds is one reason the stranger would think that. Another is he's being coached by defensive coordinator Bob Diaco. LJS Quote Link to comment
Mavric
So we were trying to be cute instead of just being good. Kind of makes sense why that could lead to struggles. Quote Link to comment

admo
Not sure if the punting game was ever worse (than last year). But wishing the kid the best. And for some competition Quote Link to comment
