Spooky Tooth
Early on, too. Still pisses me off that they called that a foul. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/some-of-the-hardest-football-hits-ever/85317937/ 1 Quote Link to comment
I am I
More than anything good to see someone putting together a "big hits" highlight. Used to LIVE on these things waaaaay before the internet. Football is a contact sport. Glad to see the contact is still enjoyed and put forth. Players know more than ever now how to hit and protect themselves. Football needs big hits and domination by hits and physicality. Let's bring back the 'Shirts big hits and intimidation. Get some. But yeah, that call on Bell was weak sauce. Quote Link to comment

TonyStalloni
Pisses me off they didn't call this a foul! And chaps me that none of the linemen got into Borland's face after the play. Quote Link to comment

Nothing illegal about it. I mean you don't like seeing your qb get suplexed but borland didn't do anything crazy even after the play like get in his face or anything. Wouldn't be any different when someone tries to jump over a player and they get caught and slammed back to the ground Quote Link to comment

Still pisses me off that they called that a foul. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/some-of-the-hardest-football-hits-ever/85317937/ I'm a little upset that compilation didn't include Ruud's hit on the kickoff from the 78 OU game. 1 Quote Link to comment

Quite a bit different Taylor Martinez holding onto the ball giving himself up and someone jumping (who obviously isn't giving them self up) two completely different circumstances. Not even close together in my opinion. 1 Quote Link to comment

I've seen it called many times. Taylor was just as defenseless and probably more so than the Wisc player who was decked by Bell. Quote Link to comment
Making Chimichangas
Pisses me off they didn't call this a foul! And chaps me that none of the linemen got into Borland's face after the play. Huh? It was a tackle. My goodness, if that is a personal foul then we need to take away their helmets and pads, and just give them flags. Quote Link to comment

The fact that no OL did anything still annoys me. Until the OL is feared and plays with a nasty edge, the pipeline won't return. No way, when the pipeline actually existed, (and not in people's imagination) would that have ever gone without some physical altercation....... 1 Quote Link to comment

Coaches don't teach players to tackle that way because it's not the proper technique. Anytime a player picks up the opponent and slams them into the ground like Borland did, more than likely will get flagged for. You can clearly tell that the hit hurt Martinez because he landed on his head Quote Link to comment

You can clearly tell that the hit hurt Martinez because he landed on his head Lots of tackles are made that aren't "the proper technique." Like it or not, football is a tough game where physical intimidation still has a role. You never want to a any player get hurt, but I have no issues with the tackle Borland made. Further, as a player, you should NEVER jump a second from being tackled. That's just asking it get slammed. He was in the middle of the field and he opted not to slide. At that point, Taylor should have lowered his shoulders and delivered the hit. Quote Link to comment

They don't want players landing on their head, as is what happened with Martinez here. 1 Quote Link to comment
