Young Grand Island Husker
He was one that I was looking for a big positive change with the 3-4 system. I hope he gets better as fast as possible. Quote Link to comment
Decked
Gotta move Collin Miller to OLB 1 Quote Link to comment
Cardinals27
Just doing a little research but most people heal up from this injury within 6-8 weeks and that is with surgery. I would think Alex Davis would be back in time for the season. Quote Link to comment

I would think Alex Davis would be back in time for the season. Everything i see in regards to the Jones fracture seems to say the same 6 to 8 weeks. I'm thinking it may be more than what he's letting on due to people not really needing to know someones medical condition. Quote Link to comment
drfish
Jones fracture is the same injury that DPE had in fall camp in 2015. Most likely he will have surgery and be back in mid to late June. Quote Link to comment
spurs1990
Could be back in pads then but how long will it take to get back to where we need him to be? I don't think DPE was really himself for a decent while there. Some mental hurdles to get over there too. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
I think Davis can recover and trust himself more than DPE just based on position and what's asked of him Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Better to happen now than in Fall Camp. Maybe Freedom can cut some weight and play OLB and we can play with the Davis Twins at DE's and rely on some young guys and Newell to supply depth. Not ideal but would get out best 11 on the field. I think Davis will be back but he seems like he has a ways to go with the position switch anyways and this will surely put him behind schedule. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I wouldn't push Davis to come back to quick from this injury. The good thing is that he will have a number of months in the offseason to recover, but he will miss out summer conditioning. Quote Link to comment

Freedom even slimmed down isn't athletic enough to be an OLB. Hell, he isn't even athletic enough at DE as is. He got way too big and lost every ounce of speed he once had. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Well, a Jones fracture sounds one heck of a lot less painful than a Johnson fracture. 8 Quote Link to comment
