Mavric
HuskerOnline: Spring Opponent Preview - Rutgers Nebraska will open up Big Ten play this year in Lincoln against Ash and his Scarlet Knights. We caught up with ScarletNation.com's Bobby Deren to get his take on Rutgers coming out of the spring. Overall 2017 win-loss expectations "It's still early, so I don't want to set anything in stone, but right now I could see progress and some baby steps made. They are probably about a 4-8 team. Now a lot of that depends if they can steal a game here, or do injuries decimate them and they fall back a step. "I think you will see a more competitive team, but I think 2018 is the year that they can really set their sites on going to a bowl game, as they their cross divisional games are a little easier and their out of conference games are a little easier. I think this year is probably more of a developmental year, so 4 wins is about what I'm predicting for this season." https://nebraska.rivals.com/news/spring-opponent-review-rutgers SBNation: Rutgers might look like a Big Ten football team by 2018 The Scarlet Knights should be far less embarrassing in 2017, at least. Considering the levels of angst, the massive tale of early-2010s conference realignment didn’t affect that many power conference programs. Texas A&M and Missouri joined the SEC. Louisville, Pitt, and Syracuse joined the ACC. Colorado and Utah joined the Pac-12. TCU and West Virginia joined the Big 12. Nebraska, Maryland, and Rutgers joined the Big Ten. That’s some impressive movement, but it only represents about 20 percent of the power conference roster. For all the apocalyptic projections, that means about 80 percent of the P5 remained the same. Most of the programs involved have proved their bona fides to their new conferences. Most have had at least a couple of shining moments. Texas A&M and Louisville have boasted Heisman winners in their new conferences. TCU nearly made the College Football Playoff in 2014. Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado have combined for four division titles. Utah and West Virginia have each experienced 10-win seasons. Pitt knocked off eventual national champion Clemson last year. Syracuse and Maryland have at least had hoops success. Rutgers has had what we’ll politely call a slightly different experience: The Scarlet Knights have become the unwitting face of All That’s Wrong With Realignment. From the start, the addition of RU to the conference lineup was seen as nothing more than a television money grab, a way of sneaking into the back door of the New York market... 2016 record and S&P+ ranking: 2-10 (114th) Projected 2017 record and S&P+ ranking: 4-8 (92nd) Biggest strength: Blessuan Austin and Isaiah Wharton lead a secondary that could be rock solid if healthy. Biggest question mark: The offense welcomes a load of desperately needed grad transfers; how much of an immediate difference can they make? Biggest 2017 game: The visit from Purdue (Oct. 21) is the last in which RU has a better than 50 percent win probability. Whatever the semi-realistic ceiling is — 4-8? 5-7? 6-6? — it includes a win over the Boilermakers. Summary: Rutgers bottomed out in just about every possible way in 2015-16, but if Ash is worth his salt, the Knights should at least double their win total this fall. The defense could be outstanding by 2018, and the offense almost literally cannot be worse. Last year was the low point. The rebound, however voracious, begins now. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2017/6/19/15789796/rutgers-football-2017-preview-schedule-roster More to come... Quote Link to comment

Husker from Kansas
I just bought tickets for my wife and I to go to this game! It will be my second game ever at memorial stadium (first was against KU in 08) and it will be her first time ever. Our tickets are section 5 row 46. Are those decent/good seats? and also if there is anyone on the board who is down with her and I stopping by, drinking a few beers, and tailgating with you before and maybe partying after the game please let me know. I want my wives experience to be awesome. After all I am attempting to sway her away from the dark side of being a KState fan!!! 3 Quote Link to comment

KSU has a professional grampa coach that only knows how to win- so I'd bet on her swaying you to grampa knows how to win, not to grampa lose as many as win. Quote Link to comment

I went to TMart's coming out party against KSU several years back. The guy in front of me turned around looked at me and yelled F*** Nebraska and F*** YOU!. And he didn't stop until almost halftime when he was so beat down because of the beat down on the field. And then to top it off some jackass threatened to punch my gf now wife for wearing a Husker Hoodie! And my entire experience was mostly that way from the vast majority of KSU fans. Only the old timers who remember how god awful they were before Snyder were decent Quote Link to comment
Whistlepig
I've witnessed the same sort of threatening and loutish behavior from USC, Colorado, Arizona State, and Mizzou fans- hell back in the day OU fans weren't that far off A-holes in every fan base- I've seen a few Nebraska fans act up too- usually at away or bowl games, as it wouldn't be tolerated in Lincoln Quote Link to comment
Husker from Kansas
I know every fan base has them, but as far as fan bases here in Ks they are by far the worst! I was surprised by the sheer number of a-holes they had. They honestly still don't know how to win with class Quote Link to comment
