GBRFAN
True on bowling. they are crazy good - so much that it is expected and feels like it doesn't count. just goes to show the harder it is to get something the more it becomes cherished. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
I would argue that the volleyball program is more important to the University, and more widely supported by fans than the baseball team. I'd put baseball at #4 behind football, volleyball, and men's basketball. Whether they are the flagship program or not, I'm happy for the guys! Congrats Huskers!!! The volleyball program is more important, and it actually makes $, unlike baseball, last time I checked. Currently, no. But Baseball was a money maker during the halcyon days, and it's why we got a couple of NCAA hosting bids that we wouldn't had received otherwise--we were one of a dozen or so Baseball programs that generated income, and the NCAA remembers this. It's also this history that suggests we have a decent shot at hosting a regional if we do well in the B1G tourney when our record and RPI suggest otherwise. Quote Link to comment
