2018 Walk-On Class

Nice pick up. Figured we would go this route at some point if we didn't sign a guy, a little early in the process on our end I think as well but I'm not complaining too much

If something would happen and a top QB would fall in our lap, this doesn't prevent us from taking him.

So he is announcing he is walking on BEFORE his senior season?

Seems strange

I have a feeling this was a dream of his. If he had a chance, he was going for it.

True, but top QB'S don't just fall in your lap, you have to pursue them. It seemed like we weren't really doing that anyway so it was probably going to end up this way regardless. Kid has good film and I'm very happy he is a husker, especially as a walk on

Okay, I guess. Are our coaches now playing the "Walk on now before the spots fill up" game? Otherwise it seems premature. But whatever. His choice.

The two bolded parts are pertaining to the same thing.

Or the walk-on is trying to get offers from other schools.

Harris's Dad was a TE at Mizzou back in the day and actually pushed Bart toward Nebraska.

This is a very good pick up for us as a walk-on. He also played football with Mario back when they were in 7th-8th grade.

Anyone who knows much about Nebraska HS football want to give a run down of some of these guys? Heard of Masker obviously. Forbes has had some good things said about him I feel like as well as Krull. Projections about who could play a role down the road or may push the scholarship guys in practice?

Who else would be big pickups for this years walk-on class?

Edit: Krull looks pretty dang good. Masker reminds me of Jim Ebke from Lincoln East with a MUCH better arm. Ebke ended up as a special teams star (if you consider that a thing) and scout team defensive MVP. I'm thinking Masker might have loftier goals.

There was some thoughts Forbes would be a P5 scholly guy earlier in his career.

Masker can sling it, not the most mobile. Broke a bunch of Frost's records this year.

Holm is big framed WR. Maybe turns into a Reimers.

Archer is athletic. Played MLB for Skutt. Be interesting to see how he grows. More of a safety build now.

Masker supposibly could sling it just as good as Duggan at NUs camp. He is more mobile than people think too.

He threw for 2500 yards 25 TDs with 4 ints completing 62% of his passes and added 350 yards on the ground this year. Best qb prospect in the state. Not to mention he is 6'3" 215lbs
