seaofred92
Lincoln native Jack Sock won his first round match in 4 sets over Christian Garin 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 last Tuesday. Here's a kind of crazy story from post match about him giving a kid a souvenir and an older man yanking it away. Sock used twitter to figure out who the kid was and made things right: http://www.omaha.com/sports/local-sports/jack-socks-gives-kid-a-souvenir-after-first-round-wimbledon/article_f3b948b0-6128-11e7-9d1e-0b3c42268a8c.html Sock plays next tomorrow morning at 6:30 am ET against Sebastian Ofner. Should have a very good chance to win this match and move on to the third round. 1 Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
Sock was upset yesterday by the qualifier Sebastian Ofner. Really bad loss for not only Sock but US Tennis as well. Sad to see him go out so early. American Sam Querrey is in the 5th set against Jo Wilfred Tsonga, although the match was halted due to darkness with Querrey leading in the fifth set 6-5 and Tsonga serving. Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
Sam Querrey is the lone American male left standing, and he won today in 5 sets against South African Kevin Anderson. Next up he plays the home town favorite, Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. Venus Williams also won today and is looking strong. Hope she can breakthrough and win another major. Quote Link to comment
