Oade
I will eternally consider Penn State as #2.... Get it? Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
The national championship game happened in the semi-finals. Florida was not beating either PSU or Nebraska. Fla had 5 days to prep for Stanford and they played well. The one day prep for Nebraska was not enough and I doubt if one week would have been enough. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
The NCAA's RPI model is badly flawed. The SEC is a third- or fourth-tier volleyball conference but they had two of the top four teams in the RPI, including the #1 team. Um... no. Average NCAA RPI rank of Florida's SEC opponents was 61.83. Nebraska's was 56.85. So the NCAA would have us believe that Nebraska's Big Ten schedule was as difficult as Florida's SEC schedule. But no way. The SEC has two teams in the RPI Top 25. The Big Ten has seven. The SEC has six teams in the RPI Top 50. The Big Ten has ten, and Maryland is #51. Penn State, Nebraska, Minnesota & Michigan State would each win the SEC outright if they were in that conference this year. Wisconsin and Illinois would be strong contenders. There is just no way on this planet that Florida and/or Kentucky deserve these rankings. 2 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I mean, by the NCAA's own RPI, Nebraska & Florida have each played 27 teams ranked in the top 100. Nebraska's average opponent RPI is 26.92. Florida's average opponent RPI is 39.92. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 2 Quote Link to comment
