Mavric
Not sure what this means or where it came from. But OK 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Sounds like NU is throwing the high schools a bone for having that one Friday night game this year. I actually wonder how many games will be played at Memorial. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
Seriously doubt it would ever be a money maker, but it certainly could instill interest into the Program at very young age. the stadium belongs to the people of the state so to speak. I would think nothing but positives could come from it. Glad Eichorst is thinking somewhat out side the box. You could use it to schedule major high school games with out of state opponents from Kansas, Colorado, Iowa and Missouri. The old beast could be quite a draw for recruiting. If they opened up the locker rooms and let the kids see what is available at the next level close to home has to be good. 2 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
This would make a bit of sense. Let them play in Memorial earlier Friday or Saturday to help get the games rescheduled. Quote Link to comment

I know the Westside/Burke game at Westside that week is already being played on Thursday 9/28. Quote Link to comment

Eichorst -- Dear Lincoln high schools, we are sorry that the Big Ten scheduled a Nebraska game on Friday night this season. We understand that your student-athletes, parents, and fans will be conflicted with having a game on that Friday night. Please feel free to reschedule your Friday night games on Thursday, Friday afternoon, or Saturday at Memorial Stadium. We vow not to play any more Friday night games in the future, especially in Lincoln. Thank you. 3 Quote Link to comment

With the money truck that keeps pulling up to the Athletic Department, this will not be a big deal to them financially. Quote Link to comment

Yes, I guess it could be considered a classy move, but I am sure Eichorst was hearing from plenty of high school coaches and AD's after the Friday night games were announced last year. Eichorst didn't have to do this, and it is a good mea culpa to the area high schools. Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
https://nsaahome.org/calculate/wildcard/weeks.php?sport=fb&week=39 All the Class A schools outside the Omaha metro area should take advantage of this because there is a 0% chance they end back up there for the State Championship.
