Fire Cavanaugh

And you would be wrong.  Boyd has a BIG say on what MP does.

Boyd is a legend in the S&C field and to this day has still has theories from 30 years ago that others in the strength community are now "inventing" and labeling as innovative.  Phillip was uneventful at OSU as an assistant who is directly in charge of the football program.  Boyd might oversee Mark, but I do not think firing Boyd would be beneficial to the athletic program as a whole.

Guys--S&C isn't the issue here. Offensive line players whiffing on their blocks, looking clueless on the line, not helping the RBs with downfield/secondary blocks, or exerting their effort on power plays is the problem. This sits squarely with Cavanaugh and Langsdorf--if you're looking for people to terminate, start with these two.

But let's lay off S&C when that isn't even the issue--we can have the strongest players in FBS Football, but if they don't know their assignments or what's going on, if they don't know how to help their teammates out downfield, then it doesn't really matter how quality their S&C is.

Nailed it.

There is total lack of fire and passion in the offense, that's on the coaches.

There is no question that you are correct.  It is about the line coach(es).  However, this also is not a one dimensional issue. The same can be said for many aspects of this team.  I saw players today who had 40 pounds on their opponent across the line of scrimmage  being pushed around when they did not miss their assignments.  Sure, some of this is technique and some is a factor of intensity, which again circles back to Cav.  However, as someone in the S&C field, I used to marvel at the conditioning of N players during the 4th quarter and how powerful they were at the hips and the legs.  I now see fat players who fail to display functional power on the field.  This used to be our bread and butter during the pipeline years, even during the "down" years.

Exactly...my quote was more tongue in cheek.

Our S&C is in better hands now then it was under the previous regime and not all of it is because of Boyd.
