grandpasknee
A little change of topic after the game. With all the changes in rules protecting players, are there any plays, or circumstances where we can expect to see a good old 'slobberknocker' hit on the field which would not be followed by a penalty? 1 Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
No and I'm pretty sure even the word "slobberknocker" is now disallowed. Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
I'm pretty sure the days of crowd pleasing hard hits are over. 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm old and loved the hard hits, I do understand the logic behind making play safer, and I"m not one to complain about the fact. I just really miss being able to use the word slobberknocker. In the Deed the Glory
Gifford put a nice hit on somebody today, and I was fully expecting a flag. Scary thing, it wasn't even a "de-cleater" like we used to see but today being what it is I assumed a flag would come. 1 Quote Link to comment
Xmas32
I could see it happening on offense if a RB cuts back against the grain and gets blind sided. Also on INTs when the DB turns into the ball carrier. I saw a pretty good hit in the Okie Lite/South Alabama game on Friday that way. Quote Link to comment
