That, and a lack of trust, is why you see our corners giving such a cushion. He's happy to give up 10 yards on a catch as long as he's not giving up 40. Drives me nuts. More even the corners are the safeties. Safety is the heart of a modern defense. Ours are serving cocktails on the blimp. Quote Link to comment

I've tried pointing it out several times to people who I've had multiple conversations with over the last couple years but they keep right on spitting out the "look what they did at OSU" line. Remind them of their last four years at OSU. Quote Link to comment

Then we took him out. Why? I understand he is 3rd because he isn't good at pass blocking. Okay, the run with him is working, keep running it with him and dont call passes. Right after that run and the crowd got into it a bit, Langs decided to go from the shotgun for 3 straight plays to pick up 2 yards. Quote Link to comment

I haven't been an Ozigbo fan, but I did like the first run he had when given the chance. I noticed that Devine was fired up, and the crowd showed some life. Then Langsdorf went back to acting like he doesn't exist. Quote Link to comment
Undone
When what you're trying isn't working, doing something differently never hurts. Using Ozigbo more is at least something to try. We were in so many 3rd & 3 situations on Saturday. There were so few 3rd & 1 opportunities, if memory serves. I really believe we've got to try pounding the rock on 1st & 2nd down throughout pretty much the entirety of the 1st quarter this week, if for no other reason than to let Lee settle into the game. NU has been giving the opponent free points and short fields from these turnovers. That's not helping the defense. The offense to change it up, play more conservatively, run the ball more, and limit turnovers, and hope the defense holds its own. Quote Link to comment

That's exactly what he does. He tries 3 running plays, decides they don't work, and then does something else. 40 times a game. 2 Quote Link to comment
MyBloodIsRed16
His offense reminds me a lot of what the bears ran a majority of the time Cutler was the qb. They run certain formations and then run all these fancy shifts but only run two play out of each formation. Reminds me of a team I played against in HS and we didn't allow them a first down because we knew exactly what play they were running as soon as they lined up in each formation. Quote Link to comment
