That's not a good comparison.  That's random action by a machine.  Football spreads are developed by humans analyzing a game played by other humans, and if they consistently over or underestimate the spreads for certain teams, it's a trend worth looking at.

It's a great comparison if you realize how much randomness is in the result of a football game.
