Probably some of that stuff....fast forward to today and it is likely that has come and gone since UF is flying up to CT today to meet with Chip Kelly.

Yeah but my guess is Fla was offering him the moon before they switched gears to Chip. I don’t doubt for one second they would have preferred Frost regardless of what they may say now.

I am still trying to figure out why the hell I keep coming to this thread. I think if we all look ourselves in the mirror we know damn well we will not find out anything official until Dec. 2nd at the earliest. Yet here I am, refreshing the thread like I am going to see some piece of information that confirms Frost to Nebraska.

You don't get paid what you're worth. You get paid by how easy you are to replace.

Nebraska has reached the point where it almost can't afford to not hire Frost. That's why he's going to be paid so much. And with all the extra BTN money now, Nebraska can easily cover that.

Everybody complains about these salaries, but what they don't respect is the money itself is irrelevant after a certain point. It's not that an athlete got paid 20 or 30 million, it's what they got paid relative to somebody else that the athlete cared about. Think of it more as a respect ranking system than economics.

If you pay a guy with Frost's resume this much, then the next guy who has a much better resume wants that plus some. That's why sports salaries spiral out of control. This has been happening for a long time now, this example would just raise the bar on the absurdity level that next notch.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!

I have never understood why fans would care how much a coach is making.  I only care how much they are winning.

Although there is something pretty pathetic that big-time coaches are often the highest paid workers in the state. I don't blame the coaches - I've never turned down a raise - but it says something about priorities. Topic for a different thread, though.

Particularly in college athletics because people like to insinuate that these coaching salaries are taking money away from academics etc. Which is of course bulls#!t.

Plus...everyone is better at coaching than the coach.  Basically being a coach or politician means you are not good at your job and everyone else is better at it than you.  Oh and maybe male porn actors.  Maybe

Just talked to a guy that works for me.  He's a big Ol' Miss fan.  His entire family has gone there. He asked me about the coaching situation.  The topic of Nebraska's coaching search is even a major topic of discussion down there.  Probably, somewhat, because of their own issues.

BUT...my point is, the entire country is watching this play out.  Everyone is talking about Nebraska and what we are going to do.  We need a big hire here.  Frost would be that hire.

If we hire Frost, instantly, our program gains credibility and people take notice.  Now, Frost isn't the only coach that can do that.  If we don't get Frost, we need to hire someone that continues the spotlight on our program like that.  If we accomplish that, it's much easier to keep the recruiting class together and build on what we have.  Maybe even get Bookie back???

That's what this program needs.
