The Florida people are saying It is true that Florida did push hard, really hard, for Scott Frost but they couldn't get him. They got Chip Kelly to agree in principle. Charlie Strong is their backup. Scott Frost, while technically still a candidate for the Florida job, they didn't land him.

Remember that ESPN Radio guy that is a Florida alum from last Saturday? He is no longer saying it is for sure Scott Frost. He is saying he is also hearing Chip Kelly.

He also said Frost is staying at UCF to take them to the Big 12. So yeah that guy is obviously a drug user.

What the hell, let's dive face-first into reading WAY too much into this. I'll start with this list of candidates and a couple others mentioned here. Spurrier's quote could be interpreted as ruling out...

Kelly, Stoops, Miles, etc. - not coaching any teams at the moment.

Strong, Norvell, Taggart - if 'this weekend' means in a game, those teams don't play this weekend.

Campbell, Mullen, Sumlin, Fuente - if the vague '3-4 weeks' implies that they might be coaching in a conference championship game, these guys are probably out.

That leaves... Frost and Patterson?

Or it could all be a complete load of BS. :LOLtartar

Dabo, Saban, Chryst, Reilly, Patterson, Maybe Peterson if Washington gets some help, Helton, Kelly, Richt, Smart, etc....  There's a lot of coaches if Spurrier was talking about making the playoffs....80 if counting bowl games.  Take out a few that aren't playing or played this week...

That's one way to interpret it.

Big 12 isn't going to expand just because UCF has a couple of good seasons. UCF having winning seasons isn't something new. This argument for why they failed to land Scott Frost doesn't pass the logic test. I'm not going to get into all of the reasons why it doesn't pass the logic test, but I will keep it simple - TV networks will not pay for UCF to the Big 12.

After going two seasons undefeated, because that's how coaches think...."ooh, if I just win 28 games in a row".

Yep, the way he mumbled and stumbled through that part gave the impression he was just making something up to act in the know. The way he spoke about that was a lot less confident then the rest. He stated the rest like a person that is confident in what he is saying.

 Quite the analysis.
